This group of several terraced cottages, in a gravelled courtyard that previously housed milking sheds and stables, is to be recommended above all for its cleanliness, peace and quiet. The owner, Sarah Shaw, is always accessible should there be any questions, but is otherwise unintrusive. The setting is beautiful, below a stray limb of the South Downs on the edge of Lewes, and in the near distance the Downs proper stretch away. The cottages are near enough to the sea, but far enough away from the tourist traps. They are also very convenient for opera lovers visiting Glyndebourne; we even made a friend among the guests here on our stay and have already rebooked for another three nights so we can see La Boheme.

Excellent self catering accommodation. Everything is carefully provided for a perfect relaxing stay. So clean, ordered and spacious. Very lovely. Easy flexible booking and very friendly owner.

Rose Cottage is a very nice holiday cottage and absolutely spot on for our needs. We enjoyed the biscuits that were left for us and a nice touch was a small bottle of milk to enable a cup of tea before unpacking. We find this cottage perfectly situated as we have family in the village of Glynde so it is really suitable. This cottage has everything we need for a lovely stay and wouldn't change a thing. Hopefully we will be able to stay here again next year. Thank you to Sarah for all of the info.

The cottages are comfortable and quiet...We never fail to like the walks you can take towards Glynde or across fields from the site – also the views and of course the convenience of Lewes, Firle, Alfriston, Seaford, the Ouse and the Cuckmere valleys.
We like the fact that the site is run on green principles. Laundry room and outside drying facilities are excellent as is the information booklet/map collection."
